Some Muslims believe that throwing the Quran (or disrespecting it in any way) on purpose will turn you into an animal, I had some dumb Somalian and Persian tell me this.

If they threw the Kuran, they obviously have no respect for it, therefore I don't understand why tearing it up is any worse. I would never throw a Bible or any other religious text, so I don't understand why they threw it.

Probably for disturbance of public order (that was always a criminal offence, at least here). However, what's more scandalous than this is how some politicians seek to make 'Islamophobia' punishable like Bert Anciaux and Fauzaya Talhaoui, all for gaining cattle votes from Muslims. Leftards who were first in row in mocking Christianity some decades ago (which I'm not against of course), seeking to restrict freedom of expression by making 'blasphemy' punishable.

Destroying books as always a shame in my opinion. However, I don't think the fact it's a Qur'an and many Muslims have the silly belief that book in its physical form is holy should make their claim to gain extra weight. Being a restrictive believer doesn't make one morally superior, often the opposite is true according to my subjective opinion.

The idea of someone being seized by the state and imprisoned for tearing up a book seems crazy. If authorities felt violence might ensue, they could've stepped in and asked them to cool down and disperse. Countries like that are supposed to be "enlightened" and not serving people's religions. Was it always illegal to tear up a book or is this more PC garbage?
