    Armenians.

Kurdistan could also lay claim to it, but it isn't necessary for them, they have plenty of other territories they can claim.

Assyrians probably wouldn't do well with a country of their own. They aren't even able to maintain internet presences properly.

Genetically speaking, we cluster more closer towards Assyrians than any other group. After Assyrians, our intermediate neighbours.

Lake Van has always been a crucial in the Armenian homeland. It was the centre of numerous Armenian kingdoms from about 1000BC. This is interesting also:

Along with Lake Sevan in today's Armenia and Lake Urmia in today's Iran, Van was one of the three great lakes of the Armenian Kingdom, referred to as the seas of Armenia (in ancient Assyrian sources: "tâmtu ša mât Nairi" (Upper Sea of Nairi), the Lower Sea being Lake Urmia). Over time, the lake was known by various Armenian names, including Armenian: Վանա լիճ (Lake of Van), Վանա ծով (Sea of Van), Արճեշի ծով (Sea of Arčeš), Բզնունեաց ծով (Sea of Bznunik),[18] Ռշտունեաց ծով (Sea of Rshtunik),[18] and Տոսպայ լիճ (Lake of Tosp).

It belongs to all the people of the Republic of Turkey, not ethnic groups.

Mt. Ararat and the area around it is the ancestral heartland of the Armenian people. It's in those lands that our ethnogenesis occured and we developed as a people. No other ethnic group in the world regards Mt. Ararat and the lands around it as important/holy to our nation, as we do.
