The failure of Bulgarism in Macedonia

Bulgars have been trying to take Macedonia ever since they rode in on horseback from central asia in the 7th century. In more recent times, for example in WWI and WWII, they tried to forceably Bulgarize the local Slavic Macedonians, without success. Even today, they use other more sophisticated tactics like propaganda, educational programs and giving away EU/BG passports to Macedonians. But still the Macedonians want nothing to do with Bulgarians. Even those with Bulgarian passports still declare themselves as Macedonians, much to the dissapointment of the Bulgarian govt.

Should Bulgaria just accept that Macedonians are Macedonians, and not Bulgarians, and the Macedonian language is a recognized language the world over, and not a dialect of Bulgarian?

You remind me of Solomon's tale of the two mothers, one real and one false, fighting for ownership of a child. You Bugarash, are the false mother who would rather see the child dismembered and disbursed.

To Macedonians, the land of Macedonia is not just some mass of geographic territory to be chopped up. It is living being...it's mountains, rivers and valleys forever communicate the neverending story of the struggle of its people to attain human dignity in the face of adversity. It is a holy land for us Macedonians, a living spiritual reality. That is why pretenders like yourself can never, and will never, win over the hearts and minds of its people.

I may recognise and respect my Bulgarian roots, but I will always be a Macedonian before anything else.

The thing is that macedonia shouldnt be divided, cause it will fuck up peoples lives in the whole balkan, so nobody wants to live in war, fear, ignorance and having miserful life and bad memories and no future...
I dont even know why we, whom all live abroad, instead in Macedonia,bulgaria or albania in first place are talking about "dividing places where we were born"? we have no right to talk about such things, cause we dont live there anymore or have intention to go return in near future, so be happy with the life you have abroad, where you get respected not by your nationality or religion, but who you are and what you do, a thing that is missing in the place where you were born
