Default Sicilian, Italian, and Greek 23andme AC Results (Speculative) and Haplogroups.

If anyone was wondering, this is what they all get. I also included haplogroups..

"Italian" is a reference population comprised mostly of Italian Americans of Sicilian and Calabrese descent.
Thus, the results you are seeing reflect the deviation from the average.

I included also my own and someone who is half English.

Another one.. didn't list the province. Y-dna is I2, mtdna is H1. On the Global Similarity plot they are in far southeastern Europe right next to the Cretan Greek I am sharing with.

Because "Italian", that they get 90%+ of, is a reference population comprised of Sicilian and Calabrese descended Italian Americans.

Greeks are getting 100% Balkan for the same reason.

    No.

"Italian" and "Balkan" are two reference populations 23andme uses and due to that they have, built into them, MENA components, they get hidden for Sicilians and Greeks under the Italian and Balkan clusters, which they are used as reference populations for.

The fact that one of the Sicilians got 12% Middle Eastern now signifies they have 12% more Middle Eastern than the reference population average, which is basically comprised of Sicilian Americans.
