One of my favorite poets is Emily Dickinson.

“Hope” is the thing with feathers

“Hope” is the thing with feathers -
That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -

And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard -
And sore must be the storm -
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm -

I’ve heard it in the chillest land -
And on the strangest Sea -
Yet - never - in Extremity,
It asked a crumb - of me.

    A Light exists in Spring

    A Light exists in Spring
    Not present on the Year
    At any other period —
    When March is scarcely here

    A Color stands abroad
    On Solitary Fields
    That Science cannot overtake
    But Human Nature feels.

    It waits upon the Lawn,
    It shows the furthest Tree
Upon the furthest Slope you know
    It almost speaks to you.

    Then as Horizons step
    Or Noons report away
    Without the Formula of sound
It passes and we stay —

    A quality of loss
    Affecting our Content
    As Trade had suddenly encroached
    Upon a Sacrament.

Because I could not stop for Death

Because I could not stop for Death –
He kindly stopped for me –
The Carriage held but just Ourselves –
    And Immortality.

It’s a bit cliche but one of my favorite poems (since I was a kid) is Nothing gold can stay by Robert Frost.
What’s done in darkness will come to light

3 different poems in 3 different languages I like. (I don´t know if the most I like, but I like them).

    In Spanish.

It's quite long, so I'll only post the first three verses.

These are from my notes of Plutarch’s essay On Contentment, which I read a little while ago. I suppose, from a modern perspective, something of a self-help book (except, it directs you to goodness, not selfishness or manipulation).

"In the evening, when the bells ring peace,
If I follow the birds wonderful flights,
    The long-gathered, pious pilgrimages,
Disappear into the autumnal clear expanses.

    Walking through the dim garden
Do I dream of their brighter fortunes
And feel the hours wise hardly move anymore.
So I follow their journeys above clouds.

A breath of decay makes me tremble.
The blackbird complains in the defoliated branches.
The red wine sways on rusty grids,

Meanwhile, like pale children death dance
Around dark well edges that weather,
In the wind, shivering blue asters tilt."

    Georg Trakl - Verfall (Decay)
Blue eyed honey in the sun
Warm, wet and on the run
On the run, on the run, on the run, on the run,....
On the run, on the run, on the run, on the run

I torch my soul to show the world that I am pure

    A crown of horns
    An image formed, deformed
    The mark I've borne

Consume my love, devour my hate
    Soon I'll find myself alone
    To relax and fade away

    I shall be free
