Obviously, like any society, not everyone is a wonderful non-racist but in general the answer is yes. In general Ashkenazim do certainly count them as brothers

Not trying to give them a bad name but I'd say Ultra-Orthodox Jews tend to be the racist ones. I'd say the reason is they're so sheltered they don't except strangers, so I'm not sure racist is the right word. They're suspicious of anyone, even other Jews. Also, in the American context they tend to live in neighbourhoods with lots of Blacks so it's an "us and them" scenario.

That said there's plenty of black orthodox Jews



Otherwise most other Jews are pretty liberal-minded. I don't think racists would be at all significant. I've read there's 200,000 Black Jews in the USA alone (plus another million in Africa eg Lemba). I'm personally friends with a Black Orthodox film-maker. 12% of Jewish American households now are mixed-race according to the latest demographic data.

In Australia the mixing is with Asians. There's an increasing number of Eurasian Jews.

There's been two threads on here about this. I've already explained this but, yawn, I'll do it again.

Ha-aretz, the extreme leftist newspaper where this story originated later retracted most of the story. What actually happened is that about 30 women requested birth control medication from the State without their husbands knowledge because Ethiopian society is male-dominated. In otherwords they asked for the birth control but denied it to their husbands who didn't approve. That is the story. It was picked up and twisted into"Israelis are racist" by the usual suspects.

What I find interesting about Labaru is that they're racist themselves but use perceived Israeli racism, however inaccurate, as a stick to bash Israel with when they would actually praise racism, or perceived racism, from any other country.

Is not a reliable source, that explanation is not good enough for me.

One of the Ethiopian women who was interviewed is quoted as saying: “They [medical staff] told us they are inoculations. We took it every three months. We said we didn’t want to.” It is alleged that some of the women were forced or coerced to take the drug while in transit camps in Ethiopia.
