Joško Gvardiola as useful as France during ww2..horrible new players..Croatia without players like Mandzukic is usless and its gonna take a long time for them to actually learn something.

I took a look at the UE 2020 squads, mainly to see if Akinfeev was selected for Russia. And in terms of Russian GKs, I saw Shunin, Dyupin and Safonov. On the day of the beginning of the tournament (11th of June), Shunin had played 12 times since 2007. So that is less than once a year on average. Dyupin had played no match before the tournament, and Safonov only once. So three keepers and 13 caps between them. Gee. Who is the Russian coach now?

Akinfeev decided to stop his career in the national team. Cherchesov is an autocratic couch and his work always connected with confrontation with some players. So it could be the reason why Akinfeev dont play for the national team. I have nothing against autocratic coaches, but seems that Cherchesov is not something like "superbrain", "supertactic" to justify his work.

Relative of russian top managers want to be a professional footballer. And he really try to be, hardworking without any talent but with support of his family. Without that support his place somewhere in the club of the FNL - second level of national league.

Yes he seems to be really loved, and he seems to really love being part of the team. Haven't played in 2,5 years, 35 years old, and just signed new deal. Mad commitment. Also takes a spot from foreign player quotas, of all things.
