The man played alone as a striker and you expect him to be in the top 5 fot touches and passes ? Is that your idea of football, the guy who makes more touches and passes is the best ?!
Except for Bale action at the beggining, all danger that RM created on that match came out of Ronaldo, he made the move and shot followed by the badly disallowed goal to Isco, he passed a trough ball to Isco who missed in front of Buffon, missed an header close to finish, assisted Vasquez for the penalty and took the penalty with great class, too bad you missed the match.
[QUOTE]RM reaches the 8th consecutive CL semi-final, that coincides with CR7 arrival to Madrid (except for the first season with Pellegrini, they got eliminated in the 1/16 vs Lyon, still Ronaldo scored the only RM goal on that tie), before that RM passed many years being eliminated on the 1/16 or 1/4 of the CL.
Seriously, you take Ramos and Ronaldo out of that team and you will see...

Obviously that was an anomaly.
Remember our conversation some years ago when Mourinho left Real Madrid and you said Real Madrid would go into depression, and I told you that would not happen since we had Casillas and Cr7... and indeed that did not happen: we won Champions League and Copa del Rey

My idea of the best is someone who doesn't constantly expect the ball in the final fourth of the pitch and goes missing when it doesn't get there. Something like this:
Players that were always there to take the ball when their team mates didn't know what to do with it were always considered the greatest. Penaldo fanboys are rewriting football though it seems.
