Well, Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio was born in 1907 and I've said "queen of Italian provincial clubs" because, among them, has the largest number of Serie A participations (11th in the perpetual ranking of Serie A since 1929, after Sampdoria). Atalanta won a Coppa Italia in 1963 and its firts participation in a European tournament dates back to 1963–64 European Cup Winners' Cup (eliminated by Sporting CP that won the cup). Other participations date back to the UEFA Cup tournaments of the 1980-1990s, with a historic semifinal of Winner's Cup in 1988, lost against Malines-Mechelen (when Atalanta was in Serie B). Btw, yes, the most well-known fact about Atalanta Bergamo is for sure its farm team, one of the best in Europe, because every year pops out young talents (the last are Gagliardini, Caldara, Conti, Kessie; the most famous are probably Scirea, Donadoni, Gabbiadini, Zaza, Bonaventura, Pazzini, Montolivo, Morfeo, Tacchinardi, Zappacosta).
