What ?! LOL. Unlike you my opinions are purely OBJECTIVE.
[/QUOTE]Listen dude, Ronaldo has a better team behind him, a team that would probably make the semis even without him at all. He still can't get near the league though even though it's what his coach (Zidane) prefers and considers harder (his words). You can make all the excuses you want but that's the truth.
Now you're reaching ridiculous levels (always to diminuish CR7 vs Messi), it's obvious that without Ronaldo, Real Madrid would be again a team that wouldn't pass the 1/4. In this tie he scored 3 of the 4 RM goals and assisted another. Last year CL he took the team on his shoulders deciding every match.
Tonight RM (without Ramos) was an horrible team, full of players shitting on their pants. Wrong line up, terrible GK, horrible defence, apathic midfield, only Isco and CR7 were up to the match.
Once again, with a team playing horribly and shitting on their pants, Ronaldo was the alma mater of the team, despite playing alone in attack and never hide from the match, always searching the ball, put Isco twice in front of the goal, fought alone with the defenders fighting for each ball (like the header he gained to Alex Sandro for the penalty), attempted shots, motivated his team mates and the crowd of the Bernabéu and last but not least in the moment of truth of maximum pressure, when it would mean the biggest fiasco in Real Madrid history or send his team to the semis, he takes a great penalty kick in to the corner. Pure class and big balls.
Really, what are you arguing about ? Are you that blind or emotionally involved with this all Messi vs Ronaldo dispute that you can't recognize that RM without CR is a crappy CL 1/4 finals team?
Be serious man.
Except vs Brazil (since they play often in the south american WC qualifiers) Messi didn't score vs those national teams on official matches. I don't count friendlies, those are not real matches, they are more like training sessions and should be put on statistic aside instead of all togheter with the official matches.
I'm not anyone's fanboy, I'm a fan of football and I like all great players. I've always said that we are in the presence of 2 of the greatest players in the history of the game, that no other player has come close to their consistency on the highest levels as these 2 (then it's a question of taste, if you like better players with certain caracteristics than others).
I've never denied that Messi isn't one of the greatest players of all time, it's usually hardcore Messi fans like nightrider that have difficulty admiting that they are on the same level, because according to them no one can be compared to Messi. Ronaldo's merits are because he has a much better team and plays to inflate individual stats while Messi's faillures are because Barcelona and Argentina are shit. If pull this thread some pages back ad start reading you'll see his argumentation resumes to that.
I simply just pointed some evident facts that debunk his theory and that prove Ronaldo on the last 4/5 years has been much more decisive on big matches while Messi under performs. And time is proving me right again and again.
