    she looks like a French girl from Auvergne region (central france, I have been to Vichy , which is in Auvergne region, and I saw a girl who look exactly like her)
    could someone explain why?

    Vassilio, you're cherry-picking on those photos! Bashar al-Assad is NOT representative of the Syrian population. Probably 99% of Syrians are darker and have different features than the al-Assad family. I'm not saying that Syrians are dark, but they are generally a bit darker than Southern Europeans and have different features too. The same applies to Lebanese, Palestinians, and Israelites!

    No overlap at all.
    Only possible explanation would be if French soldiers posted during the Syrian Protectorate had children but even then it's not the same.

    Only the Levantines from the coast can overlap with exotic Europeans. The ones in the inland (Syrian desert), no way! Gypsies is what inland Levantines can pass for.
