i think there is a stigma to having a russian wife who cant speak english though, if you took her to a social circle it looks a little bit sketchy

they think she is probably a hooker or mail order.

A "Russian wife" can be any of the following,

* Ukrainian
* Tatar
* Finnuit
* Cossack
* Central Asian
* A mix of any of the above

It is rare for Russians, both men and women, to leave Russia. When they do this it's usually for white collar work. Hence you are not going to find a lot of ethnic Russian mail order brides or hookers. If you find a "Russian hooker" for example, the chances are big that she is actually a Russian Tatar.

I'm a pretty good example. My mother moved to Sweden to work as an engineer. I met my man in Sweden when I was a teenager. I identify as Rumanian culturally so I don't have a stake in what people think about Russian women.

I suggest that you go on a Russian dating site and look for girls in Tatarstan. They're quite pretty and they are much more willing to move abroad than ethnic Russian women.

No if you date an "Eastern European" woman your friends will be jealous and the women around you will feel threatened. The "she's probably a hooker" routine is just envy.

Russian men practically never date out of the tribe, why should they? If you see a Russian man with a foreign women you can be 90% certain that he is not an ethnic Russian.

I identify as Rumanian culturally, not ethnically.
