People have distinct music tastes so no insult taken. I often shrug my shoulders at what others like and people look at me strangely over some of the music I hold near and dear.
Michelle Shocked has a very checkered history. She sued a record label for "slavery" which doesn't help anything. She had a legitimate complaint that she handled in the worst way She also goes around and tries to keep everything off the internet except her own website where she sells her music for exorbitant prices. This is really a shame since she has tanked her own legacy. There is more baggage in her controversial and contradictory statements and lyrics as well.
However, I did find her "Short Sharp Shocked" online...for now.

"The L&N Don't stop her anymore" starts about 24.18
The cover is a picture of her actually being arrested at a protest,
A small sample of her songs can be heard on her own website.

Check the "listen" under Mercury Poise and some of her bet can be heard.

thread duty
Shostakovich's compositions from the WWII era sound just as spiky as one thinks they should. Historic recording made with three great soloists from Shosty's day
