There was never any rights towards you! They have always hated you and will continue to hate you as long as you exist. Not because you are bad or good, but because you are defiant. If one day I don't see that defiance in the eyes of at least one Serb out of a thousand of you, I will know that you are gone, you have become slaves, what they wanted to make of you. I did not fight for the slaves, I did not fight alongside the slaves and you are not little Russians here in the Balkans, as some like to say, but you are big Serbs back home. And you should remember that.

My two favorite songs from those late Johny Cash sessions.
thread duty
Bartok's Bangy piano concertos.
The classic Kocsis/ Fischer.
Bartok(1881-1945) entrenched himself in the folk music of his homeland and surrounding areas. This included going out into the fields and making recordings of people singing their folk songs. The same thing Alan Lomax did. Even though Bartok's music was very much contemporary to its time, his use of folk harmonies grounds it in a way the music of other composers of his era is not. Stravinsky is a good example.
