This is what SUNNI islam is, from SUNNAH meaning tradition.
The shi'a sects (twelvers, ismailis, alawis, etc) were born much later. Incorporating elements of kufr, such as the worship of Ali ibn abi Talib, and especially Husayn ibn Ali and Fatima as well. Along with hatred of Abu bakr, Umar and A'isha. This is not even taking into account basic theological differences, such as shi'i importance of the coming of the Mahdi and belief in 12 imams (for twelvers).
