Why was slavery abolished

Hmmm. In the US there were just too many African Americans and it was smart to get them on either side of the civil war. The Northerners saw slavery as no longer being needed. I dont think Americans at the time wanted African Americans a part of their lifes directly like multi racial marriage but they wanted a more separate but equal thing. In Latin America too, there were just so many Blacks that oppression was too much work and it was better to have them under a socio-economic form of oppression than a direct master and slave method. I dont believe in slavery but thats why I think slavery ended in the American. Less about feeling bad for the Blacks but just an easier form of oppression.

It was senseless from from the point of view of a capitalist economy to keep such a virgin territory unexploited. Basically they were freed so they could buy stuff.

Slaves became working class and the working class became the new slaves. Only now you would have the working class divided and fighting each other with former slaves being allowed now to become free in title, but not in capacity. (Effectively many slaves had a better life than industrial workers from the industrial revolution era (black or white)
