Ethnic group is a notion base on culture and race/sub race.
Slavic people don't look the same,their language are not the same and their culture very a lot.
Furthermore genetics show a gape beetween northern Russians/west slavic people and south russian/south slavic people.

So perhaps one ' meta-ethnicity" but not an ethnic group
