The best castles are in Wales, mostly built by the English to fortify the country. It's got the highest concentration of castles in Europe.

A very English place name for Wales, the River Wye at the side forms the modern border.

Beeston Castle
A ruined castle that once stood guard over the Cheshire plains to prevent the Welsh from trespassing in the Midlands. The actual castle itself isn't much to look at since it's ruins, but it sits on a commanding spot in an otherwise flat landscape.
