Do you consider these two sects of Christianity to be Christian, or you see them as off shoot of Christianity.

Both. I would generally differentiate between groups that diverge greatly, same can be said for Catholicism etc.

I am a Mormon and I am Christian. As for Jehovah's Wittnesses I can't really tell, don't know anything about them.

No, you are not. The two are mutually exclusive. Christians believe in the Trinity. Christians believe in the divinity of Christ. Christians believe Joseph Smith was a heretic. No baptism for the dead. No curse of ham against black people. No golden plates.

Anyone who cannot endorse the Nicene Creed is not a Christian. Anyone who endorses it is not a Mormon.

Jehovah's Witnesses are nontrinitarian, and therefore not Christians as well.

Christians are followers of Christ, who believe Jesus is the son of God, who died for the sins of mankind. Therefore Mormons are Christians.
