why are so many people obsessed with light features ?

i am quite tired of all those pigmentation war especially from some people who are from south side of europe (iberia , italy , balkan), where everyone want portray his own ethnicity as the lightest in southern europe , i can just ask why?
being lighter does not mean your people is more good looking or superior , and we don't live under hitler time...

Also light features are meaningless since they say nothing about bodyshape, haristructure and facial features which are more important.

There is one big difference. Some forum members deliberately will state other nations are the darkest, like the (extremely) dark bulgarian duo. Other forum members, like me, will reply. You should separate between posting and replying.

I love to be tanned during summer
I was born in country where winter=dark all the time and permanently lack of sun
and I hate it really
I dont gibve a shit about pigmentation of my skin, and to be honest with you I would love to be dark skinned Southern european and could live in your area

some iberians see balkan or sicilians as the darkest , anyway my thread is directed to all those people wich have such obsession , not only from porugal or bulgaria ecc ecc...
