I think he meant the two were extreme situations. The other ones were avarage. Actually George Martin wanted them to continue slowly. He is a lazy novelist I believe. Therefore it's two seasons=one book now , it was one season=one book before and there won't be many events in seasons and there weren't in this season.
This is one of the most incredible things I've ever watched.
