    No, I guess it's a very pleasant language, even though I prefer the trilled (rolled) 'r' of my own Welsh to the guttural 'r' of the German language.

    No, not at all.
    I won't say it's gorgeous or magnificent either, but it's not ugly at all. Has its own character and style.

    The pronounciation of the "r" depends on the dialect.

    It sounds alright, only thing that i sometimes find amusing is occasionally very long words for things that don't need very long words, other than that it's quite nice.

    Dutch is very ugly.
    Linguists disagree. And Dutch looks funny when it is spelt, although it sounds ok when spoken. Sometimes German sounds a bit convoluted where as Dutch doesn't seem to have that problem as much.

    That's true.
    Yes, exactly. I had trouble with some sounds when combined in words also.
