Iran of course. They are a very power country with a very rich history and strong nationalism. Just their history proves that they are the strongest nation in the Middle East... They have always challenged the Greeks more than any other nation could.

Iran is big country, and will soon have nuclear weapons.

I don't really care about the military and I don't know about their stats. What I do know is that they control the region politically and socially because of their close relations with the US(dat black gold). They are the country that funds all of the islamist fundamentalist groups popping up in the world. Just take Bin Laden for example.. Saudi royal family. They have vasts amount of resources and they have immunity from the West. Any sane person knows if you want to promote true democracy in the middle east that Saudi Arabia will be wiped out instead of occupying fucking afghanistan.

As for Pakistan you really think they are a threat? They are inferior in every sense.. Overpopulated, weak economy, islamist government, uneducated and islamic population, etc..

Pakistan has the bomb, but nothing else. They are not a cohesive, stable country.
Turkey has a large military, but nobody's afraid of them. Other than meddling in the affairs of Cyprus and Armenia, they're paper tigers with their own domestic issues to deal with.

The Saudis have tons of oil and so much power that the American president bows and kisses the King of Saudi Arabia, and the Iranians have so much power that the enemies of America all kiss their asses, and the Jews in particular are terrified of them.
