    Default Bullfighting in Mexico

Mexico is the most prominent bullfighting country in the world, but that will probably change, since several places have banned it, such as the Veracruz cities Teocelo, Fortín de las Flores, Xalapa and Boca del Río, and most importantly Mexico City, who had the world's biggest bullring "La Monumental".

I like this progress alot, and according to public polls more than 70 percent of Mexicans are against bullfighting, but it would be intresting to hear from Mexican citizens here how you feel about this "sport", and have you ever attended a bullfight?

I have actually attended to the "Monumental" several times. I'm not a die hard to bullfights, I mean, if they ban bull fights i could perfectly live with that.

It is good to know there are people who cares to avoid this kind of "violence and savagery" against animals but I think mexican authorities should take care best of many other more serious issues that have a very negative impact, hurt and offend mexican society in non imagined levels instead of playing "fucking goodie two shoes" banning the bullfights becase "it is inhuman", I think this is blatant hypocritical.

The Battle of San Pasqual was a military encounter that occurred during the Mexican-American War in what is now the San Pasqual Valley community of the city of San Diego, California. On December 6 and December 7, 1846, the Californios, and their Presidial Lancers, led by General Don Andres Pico, (1810-1876), defeated Stephen W. Kearny´s US Army column of 150 men.

Did you enjoy it? I read it's quite big, with room for 42,000...

^^^As I told you Im not a die hard to them, i am more of what it is called in the taurine jargón a "Villamelón", none the less I enjoy a good faena, one of my fave matadores in Enrique Ponce.

I have some friends who own -i dont know how to say this in english- "derecho de apartado", that means you can get very good seats in exclusive places where you can enjoy the best.

Honestly i think there are other things more concerning than bullfights in this country, like drug wars, and poverty. But i woudn't lose my sleep if they ban them. They only Matadors and Rejoneadores that are worth to watch are from Spain (Fandila, Pablo Hermoso)

Ever watched a child matador? In Europe there's an age limit of 16, so many matador "students" go to Mexico and train, and then return to Europe when they've reached the required age.

I don't see anything tough in animal cruelty. And if a bull would seriously defend himself against that boy, it'd probably get shot in an instant

Is there any bullfighting in Peru?
