    Some things about the Dersim massacre;

    1 - The first operation was directed at armed rebels who killed soldiers and blew up the bridge
    2 - Then a second operation was made which was totally genocidal
    3 - It occurred when Celal Bayar was the PM and Adnan Menderes was the general secretary of the ruling party, they later founded the Democratic Party and tried to undermine Ataturk's reforms
    4 - Ataturk was in coma during the second operation

    Dersim people know those facts, they love Ataturk and the CHP. The CHP received over %50 of the votes there.

    Yeah??? Why is Dersim is the only Kemalist city in Eastern Anatolia then?
    The capital and the most important district of Dersim province (We call it Mameki) voted BDP, 3 districts voted independent, another 3 districts voted CHP, 1 district voted AKP and 1 district voted EMEP. Despite this, the CHP did win but not by a large margin.

    He killed rebels not all people. It is not a crime , it is defending your country...
    You are confusing it with the Dersim rebellion.

    Ataturk went into a coma on the 17th of October, 1938. In October the massacre also ended. So Ataturk was not in a coma during and the start of the massacre and he must have approved of the actions otherwise it would have not happened.

    The heart of the province is still in the hands of the BDP.

    Actually there were a lot of crimes even after the Young Turks fell from power, but I do not believe that Ataturk had a personal involvement with them. During your liberation war the most of your troops were irregular, since the Ottoman army had effectively surrendered, and irregular troops just do things their own way, frequently without to consult their commanders...

    Yeah,Ataturk himself fought with those irregular armies...They wanted to save only their region. This was against Ataturk's ideas. Moreover, Greeks burnt villages and İzmir while they are retreating...

    We don't worship Ataturk. We didn't portray him as a God and build his god-like statues and named our capital after his name.

    Ataturk is more than a personality, he symbolizes many things for us Kemalists. When we use his name, we emphasize some ideals, an ideology. He is a symbol for the independence, modernity, progress and patriotism. There are apolitical teenage girls who always shout out their love for Ataturk, they all pursue a modern life style that conservatives despise. The majority respects Ataturk as a military leader and a founder, but the ones who adopt those ideals are separated.

There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side now here in this country of ours... you, the mothers, who sent their sons from faraway countries wipe away your tears; your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. After having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well.
    It's good you mention this. Gallipoli Campaign was one of the rare battles where there was lack of hostility between each sides, and that happened between the ANZAC and Turkish soliders, where acts of nobility and even friendliness were shown on battleground. I've respect towards the ANZAC soldiers, it's difficult for me to call them even enemy. Australians should be proud of them. No doubt why Atatürk said those legendary words.

    if they would have bypassed to the mainland, turks would have been tdeported or killed from Izmir, Istanbul etc.. Sugarcoat it as much as you want, they were very much enemies. You wouldn't have talked like if they would have won and conquered Anatolia. That's like Austrians praising the Ottomans for attacking them at Vienna.

    They were of course killing each other but they were also helping each other with food medicine.. This is the one which was strange. Of course they were enemies. No need to be jealous of Turkish hospitality. Get lost...
