It is the other way round. Arvanites were 'Albanized' Greeks in language only. They spoke both Greek and Arvanite (which is a mix of Greek and Albanian and Turkish). Arvanitika was born purely out of necessity when the Ottomans brought new Turk-Albanian rulers into the region. They have never considered themselves Albanians, at any point of history. They considered their ancestors Greek, their traditions were Greek, their names were Greek. They donated their properties for the "Greek cause" and were massacred by the very Albanians that now claim them as their own. Greeks have a long history in Abania, but noone had ever heard of Albanians before the 11th century. Their language indicate they were living isolated in some mountainous area (their vocabulary contains very few words related to sea)

arban == arvan (click the link, it's all fault of greek β)
    The same happened with:
alb: barkë <-> gre: βάρκα (várka)

arvan == arban == ar ban == ar ben == ar ber == ar beresh == made of gold
I wish I was born Greek

You are able to invent everything just to avoid the truth. Arbaniti are Albanians same as Arbereshet in Italy. They are Orthodox not Greeks, will you be able to distinguish those two completely different things, or your time has been stopped in the middle ages..

No one has ever heard about Greeks until 1821 or was it 1829, so this only proves that you are only a religious nation and term.

    Raine, Wikipedia disagrees:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arvanites

Arvanites in Greece originated from Albanian settlers who moved south at different times between the 13th and 16th century from areas in what is today southern Albania.

Bah its useless Loki, they are like Serbs, connecting religion with nation. If someone isnt a muslim then he cant be Albanian/Bosniak, thus trying to tie those nationalities with Ottoman invasions. Too bad for them that there are clear records of those nationalities before Ottomans and Islam
    Hi everyone!

Funny that Alboz in Italy never assimilated. They still live in their villages and speak their absurd language.

That's what the church taught to you.

Their language indicate they were living isolated in some mountainous area (their vocabulary contains very few words related to sea)
The word "ocean" for example as this etymology:
gre: Ὠκεανός => lat: oceanus => eng: ocean

    gre: Ὠκεανός (Okeanós)
    Ancient Greek[edit]

    Etymology[edit]
    Of uncertain origin.

In a book I'm reading "the uncertain origin" is explained like this:
alb: (n)uk ke ane (borderless; limitless) => okean => okeanós (ωκεανός)

But I think it could be:
hoqe ane (with removed borders) => alb: oqean <-> eng: ocean

And I've explained earlier that words for dolphin and barka/varka (boat) originate in albanian.
I wish I was born Greek
