First you would have to show that Estonia is not among the best in this among the post-soviet countries.

estonia is obviously among the best of post soviet countries, that not the point.

Blindly following something never brings good. You always need to use your own head.

That said, Estonia is actually one of the best examples how to implement the Keynesian approach - to save in good times, in order to spend saved money in bad times. The effectiveness of spending is quite a different issue.

The way I understand it, the Keynesian approach has never suggested to spend during good times to the tune of 70% of GDP, in order to spend even more in bad times, up to the level of 90% or 100% of GDP or beyond.

What Estonia represents, is not austerity, because Estonia has run a cumulative deficit during the 2008- crisis. Estonia represents the true Keynesian approach. What you have is shifting values and norms and meanings.
