This was about Ragusa -- while there are some "exotic" influences there, at the same time I ranked mine in order of which regions I think have the most Northern influences in order regardless of what the rest of the population looks like in each region. Hence me putting them above the rest of the east, because in Enna, Catania, Syracuse and Messina, blue eyes are rare let alone blonde (I've seen large group photos from any of these regions where not one person is blue eyed or blonde), but I've seen some light pigmented people from Ragusa in photos from parties and clubs.

Basically, you involuntarily matched the 1890 percentages of light eyes by regions:

    Veneto/Friuli 41,4%
    Piemonte/Valle d'Aosta 40%
    Lombardia 37,2%
    Liguria 29,6%
    Emilia-Romagna 31,2%
    Umbria 32,8%
    Toscana 31,5%
    Marche 31,3%
    Lazio 26,2%
    Abruzzo/Molise 28,5%
    Campania 25,6%
    Puglia 26,4%
    Basilicata 23,1%
    Calabria 19,6%
    Sicilia 23,7%
    Sardegna 13,9%

Corsican culture is a mix of sardinian and (minor) tuscan with few ligurian.

The language is basically sardinian with tuscan loanwords (i'm heavy simplifying, obviously).

Btw alfieb do you agree that inland Sicilians tend to be darker than those on the coasts? I have found this to be true overall, with the exception of the north of Caltanissetta. The northern and western coast has a lot more light types than anywhere else while inland villages in Messina, Enna, and Agrigento are much darker.

As for Portugal I'll say that Madeirans are the darkest, and people from Minho and the Azores are the lightest, while everyone else is roughly the same. People from Algarve are probably dark due to being in the hottest part of the mainland, too.

I never noticed Madeirans to be darker and Azoreans to be lighter compared to the rest. I've only had that (slight) impression towards some northern people. And the hottest part of Portugal are inland areas of the region i have ancestry from, Alentejo.

Skin tone or hair? The English tan better than the Irish & Scots. Irish/Scots are more freckly & pale. They have more red hair. Irish have most blue eyes.

The English have more blonde hair, Welsh most dark hair & darker eyes.

Generally speaking, there is a West-East difference aswell as a South-North in both Occitania and Oíl France.
Arpitan area is inbetween but significantly closer to Occitania, in terms of phenotype.

This is the impression I've gotten atleast. Would ofc like to hear what French members here have to say.

Your transmission against Madeirans over the internet, won't nourish any conclusions, since your opinion regrading this subject has no purport whatsoever.

You have zero experience with the people, therefore, you should be deprived from making further observations, about Portugal or the Portuguese.

Foremost, you have not visited the Islands nor the Continent, to be making an oratory in the name of the Portuguese. In fact, your insolent acts should be seen as an offense.

Below is a picture of a Portuguese next to a Madeiran, respectively.

To end up this post, I'd like to decalre Sikeliot, as a liar.

Sikeliot is not Portuguese, nor is accepted as such, by the Portuguese community of this forum.
He is just some American mongrel, who's ancestry is all made up, submerged after lies in other boards.

There are numerous muniments all over the web exposing Sikeliots' ancestral lies against the Portuguese and Madeirans/Azoreans.

To note: Sikeliot goes by other alias, such as Triton, Clementina, tauromenion, do you mindd, cmariexo, colakizomba, sleepytigers, rapunzels tower, pinkpanda93, POIdsfijhfd, etc.

I found this by the way. I don't how accurate it is, but at least was made by an anthropologist from Portugal. Goes in line with what i said.

Lol, I don't think you'll find a skin tone difference in Britain. So, yes a dark/light hair and dark/light eyes list.

These people are also from Brittany

I don't think they are darker than those from Alsace, Lorraine or Franche-Comté.
