Look, let me express more simply so you can understand...

We now speak English and can understand each other very well because the English is the universal language of the world the same way the Coine Greek was in the old world, and it was spoken not only in the Balkans but in the Middle East as well!

Now, your ancestors have spoken a language different than Greek but they for sure knew some Greek or perfect Greek as well as my ancestors did but that wasn't their mother tongue!

Where is any proof of that language mate, and more interestingly, if the Ionian colonies in Chalkidike and Pieria supposedly Hellenized Macedonia, why did the Macedonians speak and wrote in Dorian dialect and not Ionian?

Aspar, as Strabo's quote says the citizens of macedonia stemmed from multiple ethnicities. of these ethnicities it is very likely Bottiaeans and Epirotes spoke Greek whilst Paeonians, Thracians , Illyrians spoke their own languages each.

The assimilation was completed, the Macedonians Hellenized everybody in Macedonia and much further away - Does the term "Helleno-Bactrian" kingdom ring any bells to you? The modern non-Greek speakers in Macedonia are the result of medieval invasions, not remnants of native Ancient languages and cultures.

Sure their languages and maybe some customs might be, but genetics tell a different story
