You can talk about not hating yourself or whatever but a lot of human body is some pointless annoying shit, and these eyefolds are really high up there on the list. Maybe when people were grubbing around for seeds in the dirt with sticks to get enough to eat that made a lot of sense but it's just not necessary today. Probably not for the last 50,000 years. It's not like we are not smart enough to shade our eyes or something.

And I don't think you magically start to like weird facial features either, just because they once had some big use back in the stone age for shielding your eyes. So I don't blame them for removing them, I'd engineer that crap out of my genome completely if I had it and that was technically possible.
