His parents had Greek origins. He considered himself as a Greek. He spoke Greek. His name was Greek. He grew up and was educated from famous Greek teachers like Aristotle and had as his favourite book Iliad of Homer. He worshipped the same gods like the rest of Greeks. He undertook and accompliced to a military campaign as leader of the Greeks. Both he and his army spread the ancient Greek language and culture.
Famous Jewish Historian : Alexander was a Great Greek Leader
Rabbi Berel Wein, a famous scholar and historian – admired through the world over for his lectures on Jewish history, speaks about Alexander the Great. the Great Greek Leader as he calls him and Greek influence.

Alexander the Great conquers the Persian Empire and most of the known world, and comes to the land of Israel at about 325 B.C.E.
He meets Simon the righteous, and is so impressed that he spares Jerusalem and the Temple.
The Jewish people remember Alexander and make a commitment that all the first born male children born during that year would be named after him. This is how the name becomes a common name in Jewish families.
In addition, the Jews said were going to revamp our calendar- were going to date not only from the creation of the world, but also from the time of Alexander. This became known is Minyan Shtarot- the official date used on legal documents. Year 1 was 312 B.C.E. which in Jewish tradition was exactly 1000 years after the Exodus from Egypt.
The Jews are now subservient to the Greeks and Greek culture. Greek language and names enter into Jewish life. For example Afikomen, which means desert is originally Greek.
Alexander dies and leaves no successor- so there is a contest for succession. In the South, Ptolemy becomes the emperor, while Seleucus takes control of the North. Both of them were generals over Alexander the great, but now they are competing with eachother.
Israel is lodged between their territories, and so the Jews need to choose between the two generals. The Jews always favored the Egyptian/Ptolemeic Empire, but the North always tried to control Israel and use it as a buffer against the South.
This brings us pretty much to the story of Chanukah.

Complete lies. "Hellenization" started with Alexander the Great. Before then, Greeks had established colonies in places like Sicily or Asia Minor, but those cities were established from scratch, those were totally Greek cities, populated exclusively by Greeks.
Like I said in another thread the reason Alexander the Great spread Hellenism across his empire was because he wanted to educate people and prevent them from becoming barbarians and attack Greeks again. Also, Alexander felt that by educating foreign peoples while allowing them to retain their respective ways of life, he would be able to expand his empire without having to look back and deal with insurrections within his domain. Alexander thought it was something it would benefit him the most as he moved forward with speed to conquer the world. Of course there was one division among the Hellenes during those times. There were the Hellenes, or the indigenous populations hailing from Greece and Asia Minor and there were the Hellenized people who were educated by the Greek system while sustaining their indigenous roots and cultures.

Northwest Greek tribe speaking a Northwest Greek ( formally Doric) dialect. Their language appears to have some non-Greek influence; primarily Thracian and Phrygian probably. Archaeologically, they are Greek as any Southern group. I've posted links to current studies that reflect contemporary understanding of who the Ancient Macedonians were.
One example, the Pella Curse Tablet given here:
The curse tablet can definitely be seen to be in some form of West Greek, with forms corresponding to Doric and Aeolic dialects, but quite clear differing from Attic-Ionic. It does seem in its use of the form Δαιμοσι to be distinct from either of the known West Greek dialects spoken in the areas to the south of Macedon., Thessalian and Northwest Greek. So it seems unlikely that its use at Pella is due to the migration of an individual from the areas immediately In the south of Macedon or to the adoption of one of the dialects spoken in those areas by a Macedonian native. On the other hand, the form άνορόξασα, with its omicron in place of the regular upsilon. does have parallels with attested Macedonian glosses and there is reason to think Macedonian may have had more open pronunciation of short upsilon and iota. The simplest explanation for the dialect forms in the curse tablet is thait it has been written in the original Macedonian dialect, and that that dialect is a West Greek one, related to, but distinct from its more southern neighbours.

Athenians were called barbarians even.. by other Athenians. I guess they weren't Hellenes as well
Naming themselves ONLY in Greek...
Naming the places ONLY in Greek...
Finding inscriptions ONLY in Greek...
Consider themselves ONLY Greek and no other ethnicity...
etc...etc...etc...

Progon, if you want reading about who the Ancient Makedonians were, free of propaganda, you might try this:

Still masturbating?
When we say the east we mean as far east as Persia and even India, not just the immediate sphere of Greek influence. The only possible explanation of the Helleno-Bactrian kingdom is the impact of Alexander the Greats' conquests, not your typical custom exchanges along the common frontier.

Actually the Greeks barely saw any fighting within the Macedonian army, since they were more busy with logistics - a gigantic task in its' own right - and the Greek mercenaries serving in the Persian army outnumbered the Greeks serving in the Macedonian army.
Of course a silly Bosnian famous for making things out of his arse cannot be expected to know a thing about his own history, even less about events that took place more than 2.000 years ago...
