I doubt any modern country would adopt a monarchy once it has become a republic. The fact countries are monarchies are due to historical reasons. I am of course talking of countries of European culture. It's a gamble really. Modern constitutional monarchies are likely to hold out for long today, unless a period of chaos ensues and they're abdicated, after that happens it's not likely to get reinstated again as of anno 2013. That was different in the 19th century when countries had to be monarchies to be accepted.

It may have been necessary to destroy the spirit of Whites, but if the family had survived, Russia would hardly have turned into a monarchy in 90-ies. People would have seen the royal family as too alien.

If the direct descendants of Romanovs were alive now, it would not influence modern Russia in a bad way.

the 'Czar' idiocy is still present in the many, many russian souls, so his "return" from exile would clearly be used by the church to cripple the population even further. Not saying that Russia would go back to being a monarchy, but the Czar would undoubtedly have more power than for example the Belgian king. The Czar would be treated as a half god or so by many..
