Indians in Singapore

I have a indian female friend who is now in singapore but is ancestrally from southindia (mangalore) but lived in calcutta with her family, she was middle class indian and roman catholic. she wanted to move to canada and she told me they have difficult exams to pass to be able to be taken by a university in canada i think she didnt passed and now she is in singapore. she said singapore is nice. singaporeans are mostly chinese people i believe but they have multi-culturalism (indians and such)
