It was from an ancient Greek coin. AFAIK the earliest depiction of swastika we have is in Vinca writing system, but these symbols are all over the place.

I don't think the swastika would be too controversial, but regardless of if it is, the labyrinth looks better. The swastika seems too overused and not good to represent neolithic with.
