Being prone to conflicts is a sign you cannot control your emotions and predict behavior/emotions of another person what makes you mad/nervous etc.

At the same time it already means you're failing to achieve your goals because someone's mentality may prevent you from normal negotiation of some exact things you need at the moment no matter who's the person you're dealing with.

I have done pretty well for myself by avoiding conflict prone people. Time is precious. Sorry I don't have experience with tomato farmers, but I have done better in my circles when I showed what I am than when I tried to lower my standards.
