I watched a documentary about Carpathians in Romania showing villagers going about their daily lives. It's an amazing country side.

First, the Carpathians beginning in Serbia (Karpatska Srbija) and ended in Austria (Hundsheimer Berge). And second, there is nothing common in the folks here.

this is disputed; many consider gorge of danube to be the dividing line

The mountain ranges have geological borders (not tectonic! The Carpathians does not exist in a tectonics sense), the river valleys do not modify this.

Why, are the Slovaks Romanians? Or what is the common one in the Székelys and the Ruthenes? There is not continuity on the Carpathians.

From Lithuania to Serbia, the whole Eastern fringe of Europe can be defined as the Goulash Belt — with Hungary in the middle obviously.
