It's times like this where I wonder if blonde hair and blue eyes are even Northern European to begin with or can be traced to such genes, since Sicilians only have 10-15% Northern genes and then you get someone with this appearance (who, for the record, is from one of the darker regions, not even a heavily Norman area).

Southern Europe I'm sure has always had light haired and eyed types. Native ones, that is.
