Well they tend to marry out a lot now as well as most people are mixed. But originally the combo of an Italian man and British/Irish or some other non-Italian woman seemed to be more common.

The town of Barga, is full of Scots-Italians. It is a place Italians & Scots switch about. So you see both cultures there. The above to people I posted have family there.

The opposite also happened, with some notable British presence in Northern Italy. Most of the British that went to Italy were either Scottish or English. One interesting case if of the village of Gurro, high in the mountains of Italy.

The village of Gurro, near the Swiss border, can trace its roots back to a group of Highland soldiers who made their home there nearly 500 years ago. Each one of the 310 villagers is a direct descendant of the Highlander Scots troops. As a result, they speak an Italian dialect containing 800 words of Gaelic origin. Even their names reflect their Scottish roots, with names such as Donaldi used to this day. Each year, the villagers remember their Scottish heritage with a festival of parades and parties.
Due to the ancient ties between Scots (and the Irish, in particular after the Jacobite wars) and French, we have some similar examples.
The most noticeable is the village of Aubigny-sur-Nère, given to John Stewart of Darnley (or Jean Stuart de Derneley among the civilized people) by Charles VII (you know, the king that started with the shadow of a kingdom and ended with all of it after kicking the English out) : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aubigny-sur-Nère

I won't go over Franco-Italian mixes, that would be just too much. Plus those of Italian descent don't form a separate community at all.

It's always the case in any migration. Men are just much more likely to move overseas.

I think that the Italians were more conservative in that regard and did not really allow their wimminz to marry non-Italian men, back then.

However, I don't know how it is now. In Michigan there are only few Italian Americans.

I have two aunts (sisters) from who each one will marry Italian man next year as it looks. One man is somewhere from Milano and another one from Reggio di Calabria, so one of them will be closer to their parents than to her sister (if she's going to stay in Italy).

I used to assume that Italian-British or Italian-Irish mixes came out Iberian looking, but there is still too much Dinaric from the Italian side in these mixes for that to be true.

A lot of Italian American men marry Jews. Dominic Chianese, Paul Giamatti, John Torturro, etc

I'd add him, but I found information saying he is only 1/32 Italian.

Yes, but a great number of Britalians have their Italian roots in Northern Italy, a place where Atlantids are present. Giovanna Ewbank is a good example, she is 1/2 North Italian/ 1/2 Scottish and looks Atlantid all the way.
