Default The Origin of Palestinians and Their Genetic Relatedness With Other Mediterranean Populations

This a HLA (Human Leukocyte Antigen) alleles frequencies based study. Unfortunatelly, I am having problems to copy parts of the article here.

    Article: http://www.stml.net/text/Populations.pdf

Essentially Palestinians are close to Egyptians, Lebaneses, Iranians, Cretans, Macedonians, Sardinians, Algerians, Spaniards, French, Italians and Basque. But closest to Jews, Cretans, Egyptians, Iranians, Turks and Armenians.

ABSTRACT: The genetic profile of Palestinians has, for
the first time, been studied by using human leukocyte
antigen (HLA) gene variability and haplotypes. The comparison
with other Mediterranean populations by using
    neighbor-joining dendrograms and correspondence
analyses reveal that Palestinians are genetically very close
to Jews and other Middle East populations, including Turks
    (Anatolians), Lebanese, Egyptians, Armenians and
Iranians. Archaeologic and genetic data support that both
Jews and Palestinians came from the ancient Canaanites,
who extensively mixed with Egyptians, Mesopotamian and
Anatolian peoples in ancient times. Thus, Palestinian-
Jewish rivalry is based in cultural and religious, but not in
genetic, differences. The relatively close relatedness of both
Jews and Palestinians to western Mediterranean
    populations reflects the continuous circum-Mediterranean
cultural and gene flow that have occurred in prehistoric
and historic times. This flow overtly contradicts the demic
diffusion model of western Mediterranean populations
substitution by agriculturalists coming from the Middle
    East in the Mesolithic-Neolithic transition.

Palestinians and Jews are the same people. We need to unite.

Not true. Muslim Palestinians cluster away from even other Muslim Levantines. They also have about 7% SSA, while Muslim Lebanese have only about 3%.

Well they might have Arabian admixture which would pull them off, geography plays a role as well. Seeing how they are between Egypt and Arabia it would be natural to assume a gene flow to occur in this population. This does not mean they are migrants to the land, as often people try to say, it just means they have admixture. The SSA is most likely due to it being very close to Africa as well. You can easily however make a distinction between ethnic Jordanians and Palestinian Muslims, or Iraqis and downwards. To an outsider it might seem to be they are all the same but they look different.

A lot of Muslims are Islamised Judeans/Israelites. It depends on the region and clan etc. Many have Arabian admixture also.

Jews have other elements to our genetic makeup now so we can't let this be used (real ones not 19th/20th century immigrants) as an argument againt them. Much of our origins are shared.

What you say is true, but they obviously have extra Arab, and SSA admixture that they didn't have in ancient times. The Druze might represent the Levantines closest to the ancients, definitely closer then Muslim Palestinians, they have less southwest Asian, and only about 1.2% SSA.

^^ According to a genetic study done on the Meharama clan in Hebron it shows them being Israelites on the male side but Arabian on the female side. However this was unexpected result.
