Girl + guy who is in the league above her = Impossible
Guy + girl who is in the league above him = True
This has to do with different preference among men and women. Men are mainly attracted to physical appearance while women are mainly attracted to personality and therefor the only thing that is required for a man to get any women he wants is a great personality(wich can be gained easily), while the only thing that is required for women to have any man she wants is her looks(wich she can not affect in most cases).

First of all the questione is misplaced.
A man shouldn't get A gf.
A man has to find THE gf that is to say THOSE types that fit him, because everyone has his a or more soul mates.
The fact that this ex TA member asked for A gf gives the idea he was just in need of a human female to copulate with, the very first female body he could get...
and for the rest the best way to deal with women and stuff like those () is to treat 'em like you would treat kids...
I.e. make 'em often laugh, take care of them, protect etc like a father/mother would be for a child, educate them, give them tasks to do etc but when they get too confindence you gotta tighten the leash.
Of course you have to do all of this in a subtle way, with examples and behaviours, not spoken words, you don't say "slave!polish my shoes now! but express sorrow if they refuse to do, you know the playin' at carrot and stick.
