'Syria terror' arrests: Two men charged, police say

Two men have been charged with travelling to Syria to engage in terrorism, police have said.

Yusuf Sawar and Mohammed Ahmed, both 21, from Handsworth, Birmingham, were arrested at Heathrow Airport on Monday after a flight from Turkey.

The pair are suspected of travelling to Syria in May last year, and will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court later.

West Midlands Police said they had been charged under the Terrorism Act.

The particulars of the charge accuse them of planning and travelling to Syria, via Turkey, in order to engage in acts of terrorism.

Great news. But I bet there are far more than 2 jihadis going from the UK to Syria via Turkey. At least it's a start.

Since Turkey cannot be trusted on this, I think all Muslims on flights to Turkey should be investigated before they can fly.
