I am Scottish but I get Dutch with Eurogenes. A little ironic. On 23andme I have 75% British. Maybe they have our results mixed up.

My mother has exactly the same problem and she is as far as we know all North (west) Dutch. Look a few pages back to her results and compare them to yours.

I always wonder why i get Irish and Scottish with Eurogenes. I have no documented Scottish/Irish blood, always a possibility tho. Any ideas?

Yes, it's odd. I score closest to North-Dutch and I have no known Dutch ancestry, but I'm mainly English and don't score very closely to either south-east or south-west English. I'm not close to North-German either- I'd expect to be a bit closer with North-Dutch as my top population. That's why I wondered before if the North-Dutch were likely to have much Celtic or Norse admixture. My second closest population is Orcadian, which has this mix.

Probably because the difference between Germanic British and The Germanics over the North Sea isn't that different in the test. So it depends on what side of the fence you lie. You could be between SE English/Orcadian & North Dutch. In a a North Sea Cluster. Called Doggerland.

Yes, that's probably where I'm from!
I just would have thought that if I score close to North-Dutch, and close to Orcadian, I would score even closer to the populations between them, i.e south-east English, but I don't. I score closer to the other populations either side of English: West-Scottish and Danish. I want to get my parents tested- it could be one is more Germanic (my dad I think), the other more Celtic (my mum). K15 puts me further south-east than k13. Irish is further up the list on k13. Re-reading this I think I'm probably just trying to interpret this too much!
