I actually finished it. It's rather short. First part is like a restating of parts Plato's Republic and some Evola. Second part is more interesting. It's basically a guideline on how to create little Fascist groups! Talks about meetings, propaganda, etc.

This is way more interesting. Just started flipping through it. Europe's "Right" is in a much different place than the vast majority of our "Right".

    Really good stuff so far.
I'm about half-way into this one now—top rate. The importance she places on interaction and participation in understanding phenomena as subjects rather than objects is, actually, exactly the argument I've been looking for for a while now.

I own copies of both, as well as The Rights of Man. Paine is, even after 200 years, an excellent author.

I've had a good week selling relatives on e bay, I think I'll treat myself....on Liffrea's shopping list:

Wagner & Philosophy by Bryan Magee
The Wholeness of Nature (Goethe's way of Science) by Henri Bortoft
Conversations of Goethe by JP Eckermann
I believe that legends and myth are largely made of
“truth”, and indeed present aspects of it that can only be received in this mode; and long ago certain truths and modes of this kind were discovered and must always reappear.

    J.R.R. Tolkien

Indeed it might be a basic characteristic of existence that those who would know it completely would perish, in which case the strength of a spirit should be measured according to how much of the “truth” one could still barely endure-or to put it more clearly, to what degree one would require it to be thinned down, shrouded, sweetened, blunted, falsified.
    Nietzsche

To God everything is beautiful, good, and just; humans, however, think some things are unjust and others just.

Now reading: William James' A Pluralistic Universe. This should be good, since it's one of the few pieces in which James specifically discusses his neutral monism, instead of his usual topics of pragmatist epistemology and the psychology of hierophanies.
