It's funny to look at the lines on your PCA on an actual map Graham, seems like the northern Netherlands is like the centre of NW Europe. Would it be possible for you to do one with just the normal populations as well at some point, with the lines included - and of a wider area of Europe?

Well my first 4-Oracle K13 match was this: Lebanese_Druze + Southeast_English + Spanish_Aragon + Spanish_Valencia @ 2.767972

I'm going to assume that Lebanese_Druze is a substitute for South Italian due to rather high East Med score. Spanish_Valencia would probably be contributed to the Italian as well. I don't know WHY it wouldn't just list Southern Italian but barring some minor differences; Lebanese and Southern Italians are pretty similar.

Southeast_English and Spanish_Aragon are the most Northern populations of the 4 so it only makes sense that those would represent my Northern European side.

Agreed. I think the East Med is from my 25% Southern Italian side which would explain why Lebanese_Druze is substituted for South Italian on the 4-Oracle, unless I'm mistaken.

It means you are rather northern French...Eastern French is closer to southern German, not Dutch nor Western German (which I guess to be around Westphalen).

Maybe you come from Normandy, or somewhere in the northern coast of France?

If we can make the difference between northern France and southern France, and SW France and SE France, it seems that there is very little difference between the Northwest of France and Northeast France...

I'm guessing that I'd plot somewhere in-between South-Western France and Northern Italy.

I have all 4 components pulling me in various directions.

West Med = Sardinia/Spain
East Med = Southern Italy/Greece/West Sicilian, etc
Atlantic = Orcadian/Southwest-East English
Baltic = Poland, possibly or some other Germanic country

This leaves me smack dab in the middle of Europe with the French and Northern Italians. I didn't know I shared so much in common with the Spaniards either. They aren't far behind Northern Italians who are my best match.
