Old Corded skulls is less removed from Neanderthal because back then they were not as mixed with Homo Sapiens as we are today. I think Neanderthal skulls look like exaggerated version of Corded. I believe the Corded skulls like all European is a mix of Neanderthal and Homo Sapiens but the Corded skulls are the most similar to Neanderthal.

The Corded Ware culture wasn't that long ago. It was around 5000 years ago. Neanderthals lived 30,000 years ago and earlier.
The general trend is that skulls become less and less Neanderthal-like as time goes on. Here are some European Homo sapiens skulls from tens of thousands of years ago.
I think the Corded skulls look a bit more robust/archaic than other cultures from the same time period. During the Neolithic, the more archaic phenotype like the skulls I showed "evolved" into the modern Caucasoid phenotype most people have today.

Genetics contradicts this guess. These two different subspecies, modern european population only 1-4% neanderthal genes. East asians show a stronger mixing than europeans and they not similar neanderthal.

I think Artek and me approach this type most here on TA:
- angular face/jaw
- straight nose, slightly snub
- dolichocephalic with low and angular (not high and rounded) occiput
- angular eye sockets (not rounded)
so enough CM and the Nordic/NorthPontic
right?
