Windows 7 and Skype

Have you downloaded the latest version of Skype?
I use 5.0.0.152 (that's not the latest build) and it works normal on 64bit Win7.

Yes, I'm using the last version, but I tried older versions too.

I think you're doomed! Or even worse, you'll have to use MSN!

No way.. If I can't fix it I will remove Windows 7 and install XP... but I don't see the sense

Yeah, it's weird. I'm having issues with my soundcard and can't fix it. Maybe I'll have to downgrade to XP too.
And I like Win 7 tbh.

When I bought my new laptop from the store last year with Windows 7 it already had Skype in it (amongst other useful programs), so no need to download here. And I have never had any problem with it. I did have problem with MSN in the beginning though, Windows 7 didn't work as good with MSN as XP did, so MSN froze. But after using the laptop for about a week the problem stopped to occur. And I really really love Windows 7.
