Dude, New york is filled with Jews. Joos everywhere . Most identify as white (and by definition European because Europeans are seen as white. Lebanon is not in Europe and therefore people don't consider them white)
And actually that's not true. All Caucasians are not considered white, only in the U.S census is this true. Most people however, don't think this way. Infact the census even allows anyone to identify as white (regardless of race/ethnicity), so that itself shows how seriously it should be taken.

What? I've met tons and tons of Ashkenazi Americans and probably close to 100% consider themselves white. Where in America are these Ashkenazi from?
The number of Ashkenazi Americans I've met is extremely high. I grew up in a Jewish Community Center that my mom worked at outside New York for a short time. Everyone in the town I'm from was Jewish. My best friends in college are Jewish. My teachers and professors are jewish at least 20% of the time etc.
