I don't really understand the mixed mode results. Anyone care to illuminate it for me?

It would be easier to understand if you post your components. You can see it as hypothetical parents. Imagine one side of your family is from full Swedish grand parents and the other is Half Swedish with let's say a Spanish grand mother, then the parents would make ...you genetically (75/25%), and considering they are perfectly average for their ethnicity. It just takes the average of a single population and gives you a virtual balance with components, since you never conform exactly to a population average, you may have less/more med, more Baltic, etc.. for your country, mixed mode is a different way to make that kind of balance, unlike 2,3,4 pop which only use 25%/50%. Same thing for 1,2,3 pop really but 1 pop obviously tries to place you somewhere and calculate the drift from the average of this country.
In no way it gives ancestry, unless you know you actually have that kind of family from all over Europe.

For you it works wonderfully, but i understand for people with all their family in one country, it's confusing. The end goal is to tighten distances.
I also think it excludes directly your actual 1 or even 3 top pop because it would give weird mixed mode (sometimes it still use it when there s nothing better or in your case)
Like you would get 97% German and a middle eastern country at 3%, just because you are from South Germany, so it's not that interesting.
