Most people don't care about math. If I were to talk about the history of math to people or some of the equations, I'd think people would laugh at me. It appears people care less about math and more so than proving to be better than the rival country or which ethnic group is representing a country.

The quality of Korean cars have gone up since the late 2000s but it will take another decade for them to improve their rep. The moment Chinese cars enter the North American market, the Koreans will get the promotion I think.

They consistently rank up there in all quality assessments, but the poor image they had from the 80s and 90s have continued to plague their brands, so it's been very challenging for Hyundai and Kia to break out of the low tier auto segment despite the fact that their quality is already there.

I think when a Chinese automaker enters the US market, it will be crucial that the first one delivers at least a quality product, otherwise, it will plague them for decades to come.

In case anyone is curious, the USA team this year included 3 White boys, 1 Indian boy, 1 Chinese boy, and 1 Chinese/Indian hybrid.



EDIT: For the benefit of those with reading comprehension difficulties, I repeat, the ethnic makeup of the USA this year was:

That's the entire team. There is a maximum of only 6 people per team. The photo Shah-Jehan posted below includes miscellaneous other people who were not members of the USA's team. He posted that photo because he is an idiot who did not do his research or even read this post thoroughly. There was no "Asian majority" on the USA team this year, not even if you lump Chinese and Indians together.

not necessarily though. Kia, Dawoo and Hyundai being perceived as poverty cars when they first entered the market didnt stop them from outselling other established brands. Any car companies that plan on entering the US/Canada will target the "first time buyers" as their prime clients.
