Who were the richest men in the world? A question which is difficult to answer, both for the fragmentary information, not direct that we have from antiquity, and because times change, social and economic conditions evolve and it is difficult to make a comparison between a billionaire today and one of 10 centuries does. But Time with the help of historians and economists have ranked the 10 richest men of all time. Here they are.
10-Genghis Khan. Lived between 1162 and 1227, Genghis Khan was the founder of the Mongol empire, which stretched from Asia to Europe. Quantifying his possessions is impossible, but according to historians the territories that possessed make him the tenth richest person ever.

3-Emperor Shenzong of Song. Lived between 1048 and 1085, emperor of the Song Dynasty in China, was one of the most powerful empires of all time, with economic strength estimated at around 25 and 30 percent of the world economy.
2-Augustus. The first Roman emperor, lived between 63 a. C. and 14 d. C., came to have a personal wealth equal to one-fifth of the economy of the empire, that is 4.3 billion EUR and private among his possessions there was also the whole of Egypt.
1- Emperor Mansa Musa of Mali, who lived between 1280 and 1337, his country was at the time the largest producer of gold in the world. Precisely for this reason has always been considered the richest man of all time in the world.
